Kari Sam Wuhrer, born on April 28, 1968, is an American singer and actress. Wuhrer began her career as a teenager. She is recognized for her role as Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders and also as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), an accountant for payroll, as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer, a police officer and auto salesman. Her father was the eldest of her three siblings. She began singing in clubs as a teenager, and often would leave her home to perform.
